|
|
|
I've been trying for about a half hour to save my photoshop file as a high quality gif. I used both normal save options and save for web options and all I get is a low quality image.
It's the rank images for a forum and therefore have transparencies. But I can't get a good image out of it, I think maybe because it is too small. But, tons of other sites have nice looking rank images, I can't figure it out.
Any help would be appretiated. |

I think I need to get more sleep. Needless to say I figured it out.
I first used a large image, shrunk the image size, applied some blending options, and saved.
Instead, what I should have done is used a large image, then apply my blending options, then shrink the image, and finally save the image.
Somtimes it amazes me how slow I can be. |

high quality gif doesn't exists..
You can use PNG in stead, the only difference is the quality, and PNG doesn't support moving images.. |

| png isnt supported by some really old browsers if thats a concern (though i mean like IE 1). also png 24 allows partial transparency. It really is a superior format just not as widely supported. |

I wouldn't say that you can't have high quality GIFs. My current sig is fairly high quality. Of course, that comes with a price - HUGE file size. _________________

I use jpg (no/low compression) for hq pics, .gif for animated and .png for the rest.
The 'optimize palette'/'palette based' (colors) option in psp to decrease file size is very handy.
My avatar is a palette-based transparent .png |
