heh.
Okay, you have written your complete site (that is, you can watch your own site by opening the .html files you have made), and its waiting on your harddrive?
You will need a Ftp Client, so you can send your files from your harddisk to the server. I recommend Filezilla.
When you have installed it, you will see the filezilla window, and in that a toolbar "file edit transfer" etc, and under that, a series of icons. Click the most left one.
This opens a window where you can put in all your info from your account.
click on "new site", and under the folder "my FTP sites" appears "New FTP Site". If you right-click on it, you can rename it, but that isn't neccesary. On the right is a form.
Fill in next to "host" "ftp://mgpc.mg.funpic.org".
For any other users, fill in ftp:// + your user name + dot + the first 2 letters of your user name + dot + funpic + dot + org.
Make sure that it sais "21" next to "port", and that it sais "FTP" in the drop-down list next to servertype.
On "logon type", select "normal"
Then you fill your username, in correct capitals, in the user field (in your case, MGPC)
and next to "password", fill in your password.
Now click "save and exit"
now you are back in the filezilla screen. Click on the little arrow next to the most-left button where you clicked on earlier, a little menu should pop-up, with "New ftp site", or whatever you named it. Click on it, and it will attempt to connect to the funpic server. If it has connected (it will say so in the log window, above the split frame), you can drag your files into the right frame, under "remote site".
It will add a couple of files to the lowest frame. Then it will begin to transmit the files, you can watch the progress by looking at the progress bar that appears next to each file.
The red and green light in the right-lower corner will blink a bit, indicating there is traffic. _________________ I have betrayed you guys ,
I've switched to another (paid) host, but don't worry,
I'll check back every now and then ;D. |
